Niseko’s snow is simply magical – always lighter, fluffier and drier than anywhere else. Most people know Niseko plainly as one of the best ski destinations in the world. With average snowfalls of more than 1,500 cm (595 inches) per year, it is certainly a title we can confidently claim. Our location directly exposed to the incoming cool air from Siberia across the Sea of Japan means snowfalls arrive like trains, often daily during peak season.
This is a true play land, with amazing skiing and snowboarding experiences awaiting you, as well as back country, Snow Mobile, Snow Shoeing, Cross Country skiing, yoga. Less sportive will enjoy the onsen / hotsprings, spa treatments, cultural tours and the abundant local restaurant scene. Niseko covers six ski areas: Niseko Mt. Resort Grand Hirafu; Niseko Higashiyama (or ‘Niseko Village’) the less popular neighbor of Hirafu; Niseko Annupuri; Niseko Hanazono; Niseko Moiwa; Niseko Weiss.
The main areas, Annupuri, Higashiyama, Grand Hirafu and Hanazono are interconnected and bound by one ski pass. Together they form 2,191 acres (8.87 km2) known as Niseko United serviced by 38 gondolas and lifts connecting 61 ski runs.
